Church Monument Sign – Update to a Modern Design!<\/p>\n

The Gainesville Church of the Nazarene had an entrance sign monument for their church that was old and “people honestly didn’t look at when driving by.” This was a shame in a traffic area of over 25,000 vehicles passing per day.<\/p>\n

Here is a picture of the original church sign. It was an internal lighted sign cabinet with changeable reader board for weekly messages.<\/p>\n

The City Ordinance had changed since the original 16′ tall sign was built. There is a new Code restricting height to 10′ tall. As the church was on a budget, we suggested removing everything except the brick base, and recycling the masonry as the base for the new structure. This saved removal of masonry, new concrete footing, and footing inspections. Here is the design we came up with:<\/p>\n

And here is how we avoided expenses of removing the old masonry, which saved the church several thousand dollars.<\/p>\n

We made this modern church sign with faux wood grain texture at the top. The sign monument graphics are embossed up, with a brushed aluminum logo in multiple depths of dimension.<\/p>\n

The existing sign was removed, and all the metal taken to their local recycling facility.<\/p>\n

The existing brick was a couple decades old, so they cleaned it with a pressure washer. The entire structure was painted a solid brick color to conceal all of he aging and imperfections in the masonry.<\/p>\n

The new unit was then simply dropped on top of the brick ‘plug’ and all was complete!<\/p>\n
